Defining AI

One of the first exercises I do when teaching this class in person is ask for a definition of AI from all of the students.  What you find is that the answers vary by quite a LOT but often most of them are right, in some form.  Since that exercises is a bit more challenging while we are online (and even for the hybrid students who are supposed to read & watch videos before class!), we will just jump right into the ideas here!

This is a short topic – just a quick discussion of the broad definitions of AI and of our Venn Diagram that shows up on the class homepage.
